Women’s Auxiliary

Come and join the Ipswich Women's Auxiliary!

We fall under the RSL Ipswich Sub Branch's umbrella and meet at 9am on the first Monday of approximately every other month at the Memorial Hall, 63 Nicholas Street, Ipswich. Meetings usually take a couple of hours.

Our AGM is held every February and we also hold a "social" once a year to which we invite other Women's Auxiliaries in the Moreton District. In return, we are invited to other AGMs and Social Functions throughout the year.

Membership is only $5 per year and all you need to become a member is some family connection with the Armed Forces.

If you would like more information, please contact our President Mrs Shirlee Oldham at the RSL Ipswich Sub Branch.

Ph: 3281 4159 (Mondays 8.30am - 12:30pm).

Women's Auxiliaries have existed since World War I, when the female relatives of returned service men raised much-needed funds to buy land, buildings and furnishings to establish RSL Sub Branches.

Any female relative of a current or ex-serving Defence member is welcome to join an RSL Women's Auxiliary. Current or ex-serving female personnel can also join, and an Auxiliary can also choose by resolution to admit any female member of the community.

Enjoy the fellowship of a bunch of hard-working women whilst supporting a worthwhile cause at the same time!
